Non-Surgical

Non-Surgical Procedures

Our non-surgical procedures can be completed in under an hour, but they have a big impact on your overall appearance. Patients look and feel more rested, energetic and youthful. Alongside our surgical procedures we offer several non-surgical and non-injectable procedures that address problem areas through sonic and light technology.

INJECTABLE AND FILLERS

BOTOX AND DYSPORT

Botox and Dysport are both treatments used to diminish wrinkles in the forehead, brow and lateral eye areas. In addition neck bands, upper lip wrinkles can be treated in some patients. The medication begins to work approximately 48 to 72 hours after injection and typically last 3 months. The duration is between 3 to 4 months and usually lasts longer if you do it on a regular basis. The procedure is done quickly and the discomfort is minimal. An assessment of your face, as well as your injections will be performed by one of our experienced and Board Certified Plastic Surgeons. We also participate in the Brilliant Distinctions and Aspire rewards programs which allow you to earn points with each treatment that then turn into coupons for future treatments. In addition, we have Upstate Plastic Surgery rewards that work in a similar way leading to a cost savings for you.

People who suffer from excessive sweating of the underarms and palms of their hands can also be treated with Botox.

We participate in Brilliant Distinctions and Aspire reward programs.

SCLEROTHERAPY

Sclerotherapy is an injectable treatment to help eliminate spider veins on the legs. The procedure is done in the office and it is recommended you wear compression hose for 2-3 days and avoid strenuous physical activity for the same time period.

Fillers

There are a number of fillers on the market to address all different areas of the face. Depending on the area of concern, your surgeon can suggest the right one for you. During your consultation a detailed assessment of your face will be performed by one of our Board Certified Plastic Surgeons. Patients can have their injections performed the same day if desired, and are also done by the doctor. Common areas for filler include the lips, smile lines, cheeks, chin and temples. They can be used to add volume, smooth lines and create a more youthful and energetic look. We have a wide variety of the latest products that last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.

Your Plastic Surgeon can help you select the right product for your face and expectations. Our current fillers available include Juvederm, Voluma, Restylane, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Silk, and Sculptra.

Restylane

Restylane is a hylauronic acid filler that is used to decrease the appearance of the folds that extend from the base of the nose to the corners of the mouth. It can also be used to outline the lips and in the lip proper to add fullness. It is also used to fill creases across the chin. Restylane usually lasts anywhere from 6 to 9 months. It is good for mild to moderate wrinkles.

Juvederm

Juvederm is an HA that is also used in the folds around the mouth and in the lips. It can last 6 to 9 months.

Sculptra

Sculptra is a great way to correct more severe volume loss in the face. This product is different from HA gels and involves a series of two to three treatments 6 weeks apart. The volume restoration is gradual and comes from the bodies own production of collagen. The process requires more patience, but the results can last up to 2-3 years in some patients.

Kybella

Kybella treatment is designed to eliminate excess fat under the chin without surgery. The treatment consists of injections into the area of excess fatty tissue done twice approximately six weeks apart. The procedure does not require anesthesia or compression garments and can be done in approximately 10 minutes. There is some mild warmth and discomfort at the injection site that last a few minutes. Mild swelling occurs for about 3-5 days, but there are no restrictions on activity. Patients with large amounts of excess fat may require a third treatment.

Sofwave

Sofwave offers pioneer Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology. Sofwave is an FDA, cleared, non-invasive treatment of fine lines and wrinkles using a next generation SUPERB Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology Designed to minimize downtime and optimize patient convenience. The fractional heating effect created by Sofwave’s unique ultrasound delivery stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin, which leads to reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

MIRADRY®

Underarm sweat is a problem for millions of people. It’s not only embarrassing, it can ruin your clothes and make you feel uncomfortable at work, on a date, at a party, or in public. Luckily, you don’t have to deal with underarm sweat any longer thanks to miraDry®. The revolutionary miraDry® treatment reduces perspiration at the source by destroying underarm sweat glands—and it is the only non-invasive treatment that is proven to work. miraDry® is FDA-cleared and CE marked, and the treatment is done in the comfort of your doctor’s office.

miraDry® is simple: just three easy steps. The underarm area is 1) marked, 2) numbed, and 3) treated with miraDry®. And it only takes about one hour. miraDry® uses energy that targets and destroys the sweat and odor glands in your underarm. Once those glands are destroyed they do not grow back. It’s quick, pain-free, and effective.

Upstate Plastic Surgery is accredited by the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). At our surgical center, you can feel confident that you are receiving the best quality care with each of our doctors. While choosing the right surgeon is of paramount importance, equally important is the facility in which the procedure is performed.

The AAAASF looks to factors such as emergency readiness, equipment standards, and cleanliness in deeming a facility safe for surgical procedures. We are proud to be included in this list, and proud of the reputation we have earned over the years with the people we treat.
